This is a beautiful sounding pre-owned Selmer Signature Bb Clarinet made in Paris, France. The Signature has been a main stay of the Selmer professional clarinet range for decades and the design has proved popular for a variety of players in all genres.
This particular clarinet has a very flexible and vibrant tone. Aesthetically there are some light aesthetic signs of wear, but nothing outside the normal. This instrument also includes a grenadilla Backun MoBa bell which adds an extra dimension of projection and warmth to the clarinet. From a technical point of view this clarinet has been fully checked and set-up in our workshop prior to sale. It benefits from brown leather pads which add a little warmth to the sound.
The Signature has a slightly smaller bore than the Privilege model and because of that the sound is very sweet and nicely controllable. The wooden socket rings add solidity to the construction and a little extra oomph to the sound. The keywork feels positive under the fingers and well configured for all hand sizes. It comes with the original 63mm and 65mm barrels. Intonation is best controlled on all Selmer Clarinets with Selmer mouthpieces which have the correct bore length for these bodies.
