This is a pair of pre-owned Selmer 10S Bb and A Clarinets in nickel-plated finish. Produced in France, this set would be ideal for an advancing clarinet player wanting a pro model Bb and A with pedigree.

The Selmer 10S is a pro-level upgrade wooden clarinet. Originally the 10S accompanied the 10G at the top of the Selmer clarinet model range in the 1980's and 90's. The 10S was a small-medium French style bore design (as opposed to the 'Americanised' 10G version), this gives it a lively, centred sound. The closest equivalent model to these is the Selmer Signature, with its slightly smaller bore to the rest of the Selmer range. To buy a pair of these would cost you £10,925 so buying this pair of often sought-after 10S’s would save you a whopping £8,630!

This pair is in nice condition, there are signs of general aesthetic use but it's nothing untoward or to worry about, just through regular playing like wear on the logo’s and some of the plating has worn in places. All being said, the key work is in great working order. 

Excitingly, this pair also features an articulated C#/G#. This feature has often thought to be superior, allowing the tone hole to be the in-line with the others and the correct size helping with the intonation and with less key-travel to allow for more fluid and fast playing and the option for the right-hand index-finger to trill more effectively. 

This pair would be ideal for an advancing clarinet player looking for a high-quality set without breaking the bank. Compared to the new models at this price the 10S will have a much more projection and flexibility of tone. They are happy in all manner of musical scenarios including classical, orchestral and chamber music.
