This is a superb example of an older Yamaha 62 soprano, with the famous “Purple Logo” on the bell. Made in Japan, this amazing straight soprano is around 35 years old and in incredibly good condition, save for a patch on the bell where the lacquer crazed following a repair to the bell flare.
This is the MkI Version of the 62, and features the non-tilting original left hand table keys. The purple logo on the bell is still in excellent condition, showing almost no wear at all.
The lacquer throughout is excellent, except for the small section of the bell where a dent has previously been removed.
This soprano is a bright, lively instrument to play. Responsive and easy to play in tune, thanks to Yamaha’s excellent manufacturing. This soprano is supplied in it’s original wooden case with a Yamaha 4c plastic mouthpiece, This is a great first soprano for an advancing player, but as it is also a sought after model, well worth consideration for a pro player looking for a double instrument.
