Product Information

One of the premium Piccolos in the market, the Yamaha YPC-81R is made to exacting standards by skilled craftsmen using carefully select grenadilla wood.

The use of premium quality wood and the hand finishing on this piccolo help it stand out from the mid-upper level piccolos below it. These quality increases result in an instrument that blows more freely across the range, has a richer and more solid lower register and also a secure top range in terms of intonation and tone. Leaping across the range whilst retaining security and projection in tone is essential when playing in more demanding musical circumstances.

The YPC-81R has a 'reformed' or 'wave style' embouchure hole which offers a more efficient effort vs results ratio. Some players feel the funnelling of the sound into the piccolo is improved and thus it increases the efficiency.
