As part of their professional wooden piccolo range the Yamaha YPC-81 is made of the finest grenadilla wood and comes with a classic embouchure cut straight into the head joint. This combination gives a certain weight to the tone and plenty of projection. The wooden head also allows for a warmer, fuller tone rather than the sometimes brighter silver head.

The Yamaha pro piccolo range is well respected around the world and make ideal instruments for any advanced flautist wanting a serious piccolo for orchestral situations. The wooden body is carefully crafted from seasoned grenadilla and the head and keys are hand finished to ensure the instrument feels great under the fingers and is extremely flexible and responsive to play.
