Yamaha’s 831 Custom Oboe is the highest model in Yamaha’s range, rich, pure and colourful sounding this is a superb model for an upgrading student, studying at the highest grades, or for any professional player. This model has the full thumbplate system with semi-automatic octave keys, making it ideal for players who have grown up with thumb plate style fingering systems.
The European style inner bore shape, tapered tone holes with matched undercutting provide for accurate intonation and a balanced responsiveness throughout the instrument. The comfortable amount of back-pressure allows for the most expressive playing, while the ergonomically designed keys have a comfortable balanced playability.
High quality materials, including the finest selected Grenadilla wood and handcrafted and assembled keywork ensure this oboe is of the highest possible standard for a professional player. The tone is powerful, delicate and undeniably beautiful. As with all of our secondhand instruments, this Oboe has been checked and serviced by our workshop and is professionally set up before sale.
