This Yamaha YAS-82ZUL saxophone is an unlacquered model. We think it's rather beautiful in this aesthetic. This instrument is still quite new and so the aging process is still ongoing, slowly growing into it's vintage style look. This was always the original plan from Yamaha, they wanted the unlacquered models to look totally vintage within a few years of use and that's what they do.
The keywork feels positive under the fingers and the newest model V1 neck gives the sound a very broad, fat quality.
In summary this is a great condition pro Yamaha Alto Z model. The body, although unlacquered looking (because it is!) is in excellent condition. This would be a great Alto for a player who is most interested in the sound they can achieve and who appreciates the vintage look.
