Windcraft Ebonite Tenor Sax Mouthpiece - Etude

I felt it didn't sound any different compared to my existing student mouthpiece - this may well be a reflection on my playing ability rather than the mouthpiece!

I purchased this mouthpiece after reading the reviews as I wanted to upgrade my Tenor mouthpiece. I must say for the price and performance of this mouthpiece I just could not find any fault. It gives out a nice tone with such ease of blowing. I'm not a professional but I can certainly feel and hear the difference . Thankyou Dawkes Music

It is a good upgrade from my previous plastic mouthpiece

Using a 1970's metal Berg Larsen on my Tenor since new together with a Yamaha 4C. I wanted something that was in between so went to Dakes: Saxophone, current mouthpieces and reeds in hand to sample a few different mouthpieces (I'd already decided I wanted a hard rubber one) Having tried several with one looking prime I thought I'd give their own ebonite mouthpiece a try and boy am I glad I did as it suits my wants 100% For me the tone was spot on and blowing sub-tones was and is a breeze. Totally recommended, give it a try, I'm glad I did.

Having read the first review on this I decided to step up from my beginners mouthpiece and I am so glad I did. I was very happy with the piece which came with my tenor but the Etude is something else. From first putting it on it was so much smoother and a really easy controlled blow. Hardly any fluffed notes yet, onwards and upwards....

I found this to be an excellent mouthpiece for a beginner that wants a really good starter mouthpiece as well as a more experienced player who wants a cheaper alternative to an Otto Link Tone Edge mouthpiece. A sound which is rich, vibrant and darker, and ideal for Jazz, Blues & Latin music. I preferred with filed reeds - broadest tonal palette.
