The new Vandoren V21 Clarinet reeds combine the conical shape of a 56 Rue L'Epic reed with a V12 profile.
This unique combination makes all registers of the clarinet more accessible with warmth and a depth of sound. It will allow you to play with amazing presence and immediate response.
The V21 Clarinet reeds are perfect for performances that require the ability to handle large interval leaps efficiently with an even and rich tone.
Please note they are a little softer than the normal Vandoren blue box, and even a little softer than the V12 reeds. So, for example the new V21 reed no.3 is mid way between a classic blue box 2.5 and 3 and is just marginally softer than a V12 no.3. Early testing here in the shop has proved very positive with the reeds feeling responsive and flexible.

I find them to be very reliable to play on. Been using them for years.
Service fantastic and the reeds play beautifully well.
Good quality reeds which play well. So far all have been good. I think it is worth paying slightly more for the V21 reeds compared to the standard Vandoren reeds.
See my earlier entry about these reeds. I'll be scraping them down with a razor blade.
Reeds just the what i wanted.
A recent change to these - great
They work well for me, and help me to produce a lovely ‘sound’.
Ok quick ordering and delivery.
I do love the V21. I use a French style mouthpiece but still find these to sound the best.
I love this reed because it is very responsive with a good tone. It is the perfect partner for my Yamaha 4C mouthpiece. (I use Vandoren 2.5 on my Buffet mouthpiece). In addition to normal play I really like to use in warm up practice sessions as it does offer slightly more resistance. Been playing almost 2 years and been using this reed for a few weeks. In short this reed suits my mature, female, Grade 4 playing embouchure very well.
