Product Information

The Vandoren Black Diamond ebonite mouthpiece features a unique internal and external design. This is the 13 series variant which has a bore designed to play at ‘American pitch’ (A440). This is relevant especially if you play a Buffet R13 style bore design of Clarinet which will benefit from this 13 series internal shaping. 

The new internal design of the BD (compared to the traditional Vandoren mouthpieces of years gone by) offers the musician a full sound, rich in depth and colour, especially in the upper register of the clarinet. The available models in this standard BD series now include a range of models - each offers a different tip opening and facing design. Vandoren BD2 13 Series:  A full, rounded tone which uses the facing design of the M13 lyre. Highly regarded for precision and purity. The closest tip opening at (1/100mm) 102, and thus rewards using harder reeds. It has a medium-long facing length as well.
