The new Prologue clarinet by Selmer is part of their extended Seles range, offering high quality options for advancing players. It is an ideal wooden upgrade Clarinet for the advancing player.
Utilising the history of Selmers past clarinet production that is world renowned the new Prologue is light and easy to play and offers the player an immediate comfort. Designed for the advancing student or keen adult the Prologues wooden body and internal design emit that classic Selmer sound which is rich and warm.
The newly designed bore shape offers flexibility and an ease of response that should ensure the advancing player feels comfortable as they approach a wide genre of playing styles and circumstances. Be it preparing for a grade, playing in a band or orchestra or solo performances, the Prologue is a versatile and free blowing instrument for all occasions.
The silver plated keywork has been subject to a new finishing technique that adheres an extra protective layer to it, this should help maintain the look and feel as it has added protection against oxidation and scratches. This new keywork can be maintained simply by use of a microfiber cloth, they do not recommend Silver cloths or any abrasive polishing materials.
The instrument benefits from a strong adjustable thumbrest with ring, and a bell ring made of high strength elastomer. This should help offer protection against and knocks or drops that would usually damage a bell. The outfit also comes with changeable bell ring bumpers which come in the outfit so you can modify the look accordingly!

A very good clarinet, free-blowing and with a warm sound in all registers especially if paired with a Selmer Concept mouthpiece. Easily as good as the comparable Buffet Crampon E13 if not better in some respects. Some odd features such as only one metal ring on the barrel, metal rings on both tenons of the upper joint but not on the lower joint. How long the elastomer ring will last on the bell is an unknown quantity?
