Made in France, the SA80 series has seen Selmer through from the 1980s to the beginning of 2024. Its versatility knows no bounds, being at home in classical and jazz scenarios and has that classic Selmer sound that is impossible to find on any other brand.
This particular instrument is finished in gold lacquer on the body. Although there is evidence that this has been well loved and used, it is in fair to good aesthetic order, there are light/general signs of use but nothing untoward and nothing specific over the usual aesthetic signs of ownership and certainly nothing which takes away from its stunning and unique sound. Mechanically the instrument is in excellent order and has been through and extensive re-pad by our excellent, specialist technicians in our workshop.
The original case was too worse for wear, so we have also supplied this lovely instrument in a BAM Softpack case, a nicely shaped, sturdy and light case, a top-quality case for a top-quality instrument. This would be an ideal upgrade model for any advancing saxophonist and if you've ever fancied taking a leap to the Selmer quality then this is a great way to do it without spending over £5,400 on a new equivalent model!
