Excellent product, what I expected.
I currently play on a Yamaha YAS-280 and have a few different mouthpieces for it, a Selmer S80 C**, JodyJazz HR* C* and 5M and a Vandoren Optimum AL5. I have tried different ligatures to find on that gave me the right feeling to play on. I currently play on Legere Signature reeds and my main mouthpieces is a Selmer S80 C**. I have tried a Francois Louis Ultimate Brass, Rovner Dark and Light and BG Duo gold lacquer on it but wasn't 100% happy with the ligatures on it as the Rovners felt a bit resistant, the light especially, the BG Duo gives me a bigger tone but it feels a bit resistant and the Francois Louis, while it feels better to play on, its not smooth and didn't want to scratch up the mouthpiece with the ligature plate as the FL plate is a bit rough around the edges.. I have a Rovner Versa ligature for my Soprano sax and quite like it as my sound was even and easy to get out, so I decided to get one for my alto..You can configure it in different ways. When I got it, I tried it on my Selmer S80 C** with the way it comes with the two flaps over the metal cradle with the thicker plate in it. Its easy to put on and won't move when tightened. I instantly noticed I had a stable sound with low notes just coming out easily, it wasn't as resistant and it feels even throughout with a bigger sound than some of my other ligatures and I could play away and unlike my other ligatures I didn't notice it being too resistant or hard to play. Putting in the thinner plate, I feel I get a slightly lighter sound and with no plate in the cradle, it feels again more lighter but more resistant. Overall I find this to be my favourite ligature and it it fits all my mouthpieces, although it does stretch slightly on the JodyJazz but it still works on my narrower Selmer S80 C**. If you have ever used a Rovner material ligature before, this fits on the mouthpiece the same way but with a better overall stable, less resistant sound.
