Product Information

These are the Rigotti Gold Bb Clarinet reeds, produced in the heart of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. These fantastically consistent and great sounding reeds are produced by Rigotti and use their Classic Cut design. In production since 1966 the Rigotti brand has slowly but steadily amassed a reputation for consistency, clarity of tone and quality.

Choosing a Strength

Rigotti use the classic numbering system, but they also categories by sub-measures of Light (L), Medium (M) and Strong (S). The idea is that if you usually enjoy a 'harder' or 'stronger' number 3 for example, then 3S would be the box strength to go for. The 'Medium' strength is usually a direct equivalent to the Vandoren Traditional blue box strength (see comparison chart for more info).

The Rigotti Gold 3M is said to be equivalent to Vandoren traditional no. 3 reeds, but I found the first two I've tried a little harder than that, and I was struggling a bit. Once I broke the first reed in, however, it played really well. A darker sound than most of my Vandoren 3s.
