Paxman Full Double Geyer-Style - French Horn (1000)
Product Information
Paxman Horns have been a mainstay of the professional horn world for many years, with the Model 23 one of their most popular models. This horn is not marked with a specific model, but appears to be an early custom version of the modern model 23, manufactured with the Geyer style wrap.
This horn is a beauty to play, with a full, broad tone. In an unlacquered yellow brass finish throughout, this horn resonates well and gives the player lots of confidence with its feedback throughout the range.
The F and Bb sides are matched well together, and both sides have an independent tuning slide to allow fine tuning on both sides of the horn. The thumb valve features a reversible rotor arm, allowing the horn to stand in either F or Bb. The other rotors are constructed with a string linkage and the action on all 4 valves is light and super fast.
