The Mauriat PMXT-66RX DK ‘Influence’ Tenor Saxophone sits firmly at the top of their range. It features a large bell, rolled tone holes, the Mauriat Super VI neck and nickel silver touch-pieces. The outfit is set-off in an attractive matt vintage style finish which looks fantastic with its hand-engraving on the bow and bell.

The Mauriat Saxophones burst onto the scene in the early 2000's and have firmly cemented their place at the ‘top-table’ of Saxophone manufacturers in the last two decades. The PMXT series offer professional level manufacturing, sound-quality and durability. Arguably the Tenor 66R is the instrument that got Mauriat established as a credible pro-level alternative. It has a dynamic sound which is both urgent and powerful. However, this Tenor isn't just all go-go-go, the 66R is equally at home playing a lush ballad as it is screaming into a jazz/funk/pop solo.

The 66R Tenor Sax is geared up to be as close to the classic vintage Saxophones of years gone by as possible. The rolled tone holes give the sound a roundness, but also a really positive immediacy of response. As soon as you push air into the instrument it is instant and it just feels alive. We choose to stock this Influence model because the nickel silver touch-pieces feel, sound, and look great! There is a slight extra weight to the sound because of them in our opinion.
