The Mauriat Le Bravo Tenor Saxophone is an excellent addition to the premium upgrade/semi-pro marketplace. Designed to take advancing players to the next level in terms of tonal response and playability, this model sits neatly between the Yamaha YTS-480 and Yamaha YTS-62 and similar level instruments.

This Tenor makes a big, full sound with plenty of projection. It retains the general character of the Mauriat ‘sound’ which is to be found on the professional level models. The red brass body is finished in an attractive matt lacquer finish and the solid nickel-silver Super VI neck adds plenty of power, projection and density to the tone.

To keep the price very keen the Le Bravo range are made without engraving. This seems like a small concession but hand-engraving adds a few hours to the cost and so if you're happy without that then you can save some money accordingly. The outfit comes complete with a Mauriat case, a plastic mouthpiece with ligature and cap. In summary, if you're looking for a characterful upgrade that looks a little different from the ‘norm’ then this Le Bravo would be a great choice.
