The Mauriat Le Bravo Baritone Saxophone sounds as great as it looks. Designed to offer a big, fat and fruity sound, the Le Bravo gives players a serious alternative to the mainstream Yamaha or Yanagisawa models. The solid nickel-silver neck adds weight, power and dynamism to the overall tone of this Baritone.

There's no getting around the fact that Baritone Saxophones are expensive, and arguably this Le Bravo is no exception. However, the way it plays, relative to its competition, actually makes it seem a bit of a bargain. The closest competitor of note is the Yamaha YBS-480 which is extremely capable but arguably a little…boring? Each to their own but the Mauriat has a really fun and dynamic sound, with a good ergonomic layout as well.

To keep the price very keen the Le Bravo range are made without engraving. This seems like a small concession but hand-engraving adds a few hours to the cost and so if you're happy without that then you can save some money accordingly. The outfit comes complete with a Mauriat case, a plastic mouthpiece with ligature and cap. In summary, if you're looking for a characterful upgrade that looks a little different from the ‘norm’ then this Le Bravo would be a great choice.
