Parallel Broken Spring Removing Pliers make the job of removing the broken spring fast and simple. The jaws of the pliers have two allen/hex adjusting screws, allowing you to change the distance of the pointed insert from the tip of the jaws (close for Clarinets and Flutes, and further away for Saxophones). Simply insert the desired thickness and length of spring into the jaws and tighten the hex screw.
The great thing about using a spring to push out a broken spring is that they are made from the same hardness of material, you can select the exact diameter needed, and you can always have a freshly pointed tip for the most accurate results. You may find it helpful to change the temper of your spring insert before you insert it. If so, heat the spring tip and harden as desired.
The narrow jaws of the pliers allow you to get into tight spots, between posts, under some keys, and even between springs in opposing directions on a single post. Parallel pressure is applied directly on the broken spring, making slips less likely. The slotted jaw allows you to approach the spring from the top of the post or the side.
These Parallel Broken Spring Removing Pliers are made from stainless steel in-house at Music Medic in Wilmington, NC, USA. They come with a spring inserted, and can be used with any blue needle spring or cut needle tip.
The pliers will need a 1/32" or 0.9 mm Allen key to be adjusted.
