Premium hand-selected reeds from the Var region in France. Designed and cut to the exacting standards of the woodwind experts at Ishimori in Japan.
The Wood Stone reeds feature a thin tip for accurate and immediate response and a fairly thick heart for a warm broad tonal pallette.
Bob Mintzer (Top US Saxophonist):
'The Wood Stone reeds are incredibly consistent, vibrant and long lasting. The reeds have an even, dark tone that spans the full range of the instrument. I can't say enough about these reeds, they simply work great!'
Tom E Politzer (Tenor Sax, Tower of Power):
'Wood Stone reeds are simply the best Sax reeds I've ever used. Great cane and super consistent straight out of the box! I couldn't believe it when I first tried them, great reed after great reed, and that continues to be my experience. Also, they last longer than any reed I've ever played. Do yourself a favour and try them if you haven't yet.'

I've tried the whole box of 2.5 which is the softest, and found them too hard. I use a fairly open mouthpiece and find these 2.5 as hard as 3 or 4 of other reeds.
The supplier responded:Hi,
Many thanks for your recent purchase. Thanks for letting us know your thoughts on these reeds, it's always good to get a wide range of opinions on products, especially fairly new ones. In our own in-store testing we actually found these Ishimori #2.5 came up a bit softer than we were expecting, around the same as Vandoren Java Green #2.5, we found the Ishimori #3 was then significantly harder. This was using 7* and 8 tip openings (although the facing length is equally important). I've sent you a mail directly to chat through it further so we can help advise people if they have a similar set-up to you.Â
Kind Regards, Sam - Woodwind Dept
