Cut to the exacting standards of Wood Stone (Japan) these hand selected reeds have a jazz unfiled cut, and feature an immediate and flexible tone.
Bob Mintzer (Top US Saxophonist):
'The Wood Stone reeds are incredibly consistent, vibrant and long lasting. The reeds have an even, dark tone that spans the full range of the instrument. I can't say enough about these reeds, they simply work great!'
Tom E Politzer (Sax Player, Tower of Power):
'Wood Stone reeds are simply the best Sax reeds I've ever used. Great cane and super consistent straight out of the box! I couldn't believe it when I first tried them, great reed after great reed, and that continues to be my experience. Also, they last longer than any reed I've ever played. Do yourself a favour and try them if you haven't yet.'

The same as for tenor, excellent reeds
Bob Mintzer got lucky (quote on consistency)! The first two reeds I tried were very different - the first was a full on 3 and the second was more like a 2.5. It remains to be seen which of the two is more representative. The reeds are quite like Superial DC and I like them a lot, but I don't know that they are worth the price premium. Like the Superial they come stuck to a piece of card, which I think is more than a bit cheap for a premium priced product. Every Rico and Vandoren reed comes in a decent plastic reed holder, so why can't these guys do it?
These are excellent reeds and I would recommend them to anyone. Reason not 5 stars is you have to take a bit of a gamble on strength. I was using Vandoren 2.5 and knew Wood Stone are softer, so opted for a 3 but still a bit too soft. However one of the box was slightly harder so I am using this, with great results. I shall invest in a reed cutter perhaps! But will go for 3.5 next time
Very good reeds, although a bit expensive.
I really like the wood stone reeds , best I've ever tried and haven't found them anywhere else. Please do keep them going!
Best quality
Very soft. Half strength softer than most other makes.
Been informed by Dawkes Music news updates, thought might just have a try with this new reeds, Ishimori Wood Stone Hand Selected Alto Sax Reeds. Surprisingly, this is the better one compared with the other top-named one I used for years. Thanks for the information and good services from Dawkes.
