Product Information

This is the Huber Straight Mute for Trumpet in all black (there are 3 finish options). The design is based on two classic Straight Mutes; the 1930's Ray Robinson and a 1940's Shastock, with a little twist. The base of this straight mute is removable! The mute comes with 2 bases which offer a different timbre, so it's like getting 2 mutes for the price of 1.

The first removable base (smaller) provides a classic fibre sound such as found in the original Robinson/Shastock designs. The second removable base (larger) brightens the mute up and makes it sound and play more like a modern metal mute.

There is also the option to buy a 3rd 'buzz' base which offers an unusual buzzy sound. Based on a hybrid 1920's 'wondertone' this buzz base creates it's unique sound via 4 thin plastic diaphragms located on the bottom of the mute. Please Note: This 'buzz' base is an extra cost and is not included in the standard straight mute outfit.

About Huber Mutes

New from the USA, these Huber Mutes for Trumpet are glorious to play and look at! Inspired by classic mutes that are now out of production, each model undergoes months of design and testing before going into production. All our Huber mutes come with traditional cork fittings.

Each mute is 3D printed with PLA plastic (a multi-hour process). The mutes are then hand-painted, labeled, varnished and corked. Every mute is produced in limited numbers at their in-house facility in Brooklyn, New York.
