The beautiful 'New Vintage' Conn 88HNV is the first update to the 88H range in over 20 years. The 88H range has become synonymous with the classic 'orchestral' Trombone sound and in fact it's become the model we measure everything else up against.
So, What's New with the 88HNV?
New Bell Design: The technical team have closely studied some vintage 88H models including the original prototype to create a brand new 8.5" rose brass bell utilising a lighter weight and a change to the flare design. This gives a dynamic and rapid response across the range. This bell weight design is based on the original 88H belonging to the legendary Emory Remmington.
Rotor System: The Conn 88HNV Trombone uses a classic conn rotor but with a brand new wrap tubing design to give seamless transitions in and out of the valve register. The mechanism is updated with a ergonomically crafted wooden lever paddle.
Finishing & Practicalities: The 88HNV features a gorgeous new vintage style engraving on the bell which references various old Conn designs. The Trombone also comes with a new fibreglass sleek black case which is lighter and slimmer than the classic woodshell designs of old. It also features backpack straps for easy transportation.
In Summary: This new Conn 88HNV re-invigorates the range and sets the new standard for years to come. It not only looks amazing but the new bell and rotor modifications enhance that classic Conn sound and also improve the speed of response and flexibility. The outfit is completed with a classic 88H hand slide which compliments the new features.
