Developed in 1955 under the guidance of Robert Carree, the R13 clarinet quickly became the legendary choice of professional musicians.
The R13 impresses with its rich and focused sound, its power in all registers and its flexibility. The R13 Greenline Clarinet is suitable for all types of musician, symphony or chamber music, soloists, teachers, those in marching bands, students and amateurs.
The Greenline Models are made of a composite material to avoid the problems of cracking or warping that can occur in some wooden instruments in troublesome environments. The robust nature of the material makes the instrument ideal for outside playing or high humidity areas.

I’ve only had the clarinet a few days, so only time will tell if it as good as reported. But it look excellent and plays very well.
I am extremely pleased with this instrument. Dawkes will encourage you to try any combination of instruments, mouthpieces and reeds in order to be sure that you are completely happy with your final choice. After a series of problems with wooden instruments, I decided to give the Greenline a go. I actually preferred the tone and play-ability of the R13 Greenline to the other professional level wooden clarinets that I tried and am hoping that the added resilience of the material will keep it free of problems!
Beautiful clarinet. Just wish I could play it beautifully...
