Originally created in 1987 alongside three internationally renowned clarinet artists Jacques Lancelot, Guy Deplus and Michel Arrignon, the Festival has been refreshed in 2024 to take advantage of the latest Buffet Crampon developments. The Festival has always been highly regarded and a favourite amongst college level students, teachers and professional players. 

Model Improvements

On both the Bb and A the core bore shaping and design has remained the same, but here on the Bb there have been the following specific changes/improvements to the Festival Clarinet:

  • The pitch of the right hand Eb/D/C#/C in the clarion register has been lowered slightly vs the old model which was a little sharp for most players. This has been achieved by a 1mm lengthening of the body
  • The bell is actually 2mm shorter vs the original model which helps give a more lively sound with projection

In summary the Festival has been refined to answer any prior minor niggles that existed on the original model. It now meets the most exacting needs of todays musicians who are faced with the daunting task of interpreting a wide repertoire of works from Mozart to Boulez.

The Festival belongs to the R13 bore family and has a rich powerful fluid tone. Along with the Vintage and Prestige range of Clarinets the Festival offers the discerning professional a choice of tonal characteristics and unparalleled projection and tuning.
