This is the new Backun Signature Series ‘Euro’ Clarinet mouthpiece. This mouthpiece, inspired by players from across Europe, has been designed by master-craftsman Richard Hawkins on behalf of Backun. This result is a mouthpiece with a larger than life big, loud character. Perfect for players in the wind band, jazz and contemporary playing where a robust, loud sound is needed without compromising the clarity and control required in these settings.

This new Signature Series from Backun has expanded to six models, this ‘Euro’ and others inspired by some of the best players in the business. Both feature new internal and external designs compared to the Vocalise range. They also come with rubber o-rings in place of traditional cork (3 different sizes supplied in the outfit). The ‘Euro’ model is crafted with a unique A-Frame baffle exit, representing the future of clarinet mouthpiece design. It has a huge open / long facing with a very open tip (1.30mm). The open facing has been optimised to work well with both synthetic and cane reeds.

This ‘Euro’ mouthpiece is produced in a marbled spanish hard rod rubber (ebonite). The manufacturing tolerances are exceptional and offer the leading quality of any clarinet mouthpiece in production. This ensures each ‘Euro’ clarinet mouthpiece offers exactly the same response and tone. This model would suit players who prefer a closer tip opening and harder reed set-up.
