Product Information

The latest addition to the Backun barrel range, the Lumiere offers a sweet and balanced tone. This barrel gives increased focus and direct projection to help your sound carry across an ensemble. This is the Yamaha CSG version which is available in smaller lengths due to the design of the CSG clarinets.

The elegant curves and flowing design compliment the fluid nature of the tone that the Lumiere helps produce. Not as heavy or dense sounding as the MoBa, the Lumiere has a great balance of flexibility, warmth and excellent tuning.

The Grenadilla version has a slightly harder, more direct ring and projection compared to the softer, sweeter Cocobolo wood version.

Excellent manufacture. I am returning to clarinet after three decades absence. I can compare Yamaha, Fobes and Backun CSG barrels. I hesitate to offer an opinion. There are differences but. at the moment, I do not have a favourite. -- Roger Brown
