A favoured choice amongst upgrading and pro players. The Bach LR180ML 37S offers most players a free blowing and livelier version of the standard 37 due to the reverse lead-pipe design and lighter-weight body. This silver plated version adds another tonal characteristic due to the plating, perhaps offering more colour or complexity to the tone.
The classic 37 shape bell is very versatile and suits the player needing a wide range of tonal possibilities. From classical to jazz and big band, the 37 is still the model we compare all others against. This LR180ML model plays differently to the standard 180ML because of the body design. Bach implement a 'reverse lead-pipe' design on this LR series. This essentially means the legs of the main tuning slide sit on the outside of the lead-pipe tube which removes any disturbance in the air flow.
Some players feel this makes the instruments slightly more free blowing, we prefer to say it alters the resistance point and it depends on how much you like as feedback when you play. This design results in a lighter-weight body overall and that will also make it feel slightly brighter and punchier than the non reverse lead-pipe version.
