Made in the USA by the famous Vincent Bach Corporation, these MegaTone Cornet mouthpieces offer additional heavy mass at the top of the mouthpiece to increase the strength and power of the sound.

Similar to the Denis Wick HeavyTop, the idea behind these types of mouthpieces is that the additional material/mass around the cup prevents the loss of energy when the mouthpiece is played and thus makes it a more efficient unit to play. Bach make the throat slightly larger in these models to balance the resistance levels and give greater flexibility. 

Anecdotally players also comment that these heavier versions give a more centred and solid sound with added projection.
