This is a professional fully handmade Yamaha YFL-881 series flute. The instrument features in-line open hole keywork which is the configuration on Yamaha pro models from this era. This flute is made of full sterling silver throughout including the head joint, body, foot joint and indeed the keywork.

Produced from the mid 1980's to 2017, the YFL-881 is a high-level fully professional instrument. The 8 & 9 series models are made by a select small group of the most experienced flute artisans within the Yamaha pro team. The silver used throughout the instrument is subject to a unique annealing process to deliver an impeccably pure tonal quality across the range of the instrument. This instrument offers a wide dynamic range and exquisite control.
