Adult Tuition: What’s On (Autumn 2021 )

We have a wide variety of lessons and ensembles to play in during Autumn 2021. From small groups to our larger bands, there’s something for every player at every level. All the info about our upcoming groups is below…

Mid-Week Ensembles (New!)

Clarinet Choir – (Tues): 2pm-2.45pm – £40 per 1/2 term (5 sessions)

We are thrilled to be able to offer a weekly clarinet choir from September 2021 onwards. This group will be limited to a maximum of six players and will be held at Dawkes on a Thursday at 2pm for 45 minutes. All music will be supplied and the group will be lead by our Clarinet specialist Harriet. If you would like to join this group please get in touch as soon as possible as we think this will be a popular one!

Tuesday Tooters – (Tues) 6.30pm – 7.30pm – £80 per term (10 Sessions).  This new weekly ensemble will be commencing from  Tuesday 14th September for 10 weeks (with a break for half term). Tuesday Tooters will be taken by Harriet and Rob and are welcoming wind & brass players who are around grade 2 and above.  Ensemble playing music from jazz, classical, movie themes to pop.

Trio & Quintet Ensembles (New!)

So many of our pupils are really keen to get playing again in smaller coached ensembles. These specialist ensembles are a chance to get together on a weekly basis and play in small groups of between 3-5 players.

The sessions will be 1 hour and will be charged by the half term (5 sessions).  If you are interested in joining a small coached ensemble (any Woodwind instrument, any level) please drop Vicky an email: teaching@dawkes.co.uk

Trio – A small coached group of 3 players – £80 per 1/2 term (£16 per session) 5 sessions per half term.

Quintet – A small coached ensemble of 5 players  – £50 per 1/2 term (£10 per session) 5 sessions per half term.

We aim for these sessions to take place on a Monday between 9am-2.30pm. All music Will be supplied by Dawkes Music.

Sunday Monthly Groups (In Person)

Our monthly groups have been running online since 2020 however from September 2021 we’re thrilled to say we will be back in person!

Our groups will now run by term allocation so we can plan the music and make sure we can socially distance our players.  If you would like to join our monthly ensembles please do let Vicky know . Our next term will begin in January, we also accept new players at the half-term point (late October for this Sep-Dec term).

Going forwards these in person Sunday groups will be held on the first Sunday of the month (unless specified) 3pm-5.30pm

New Beginnings Band: (Sun) 3pm-3.30pm – £24 per term (4 Sessions) – Players who have recently started playing and know around 1 octave on their chosen instrument.

Wind Ensemble:  (Sun) 3.30pm-4pm – £24 per term (4 Sessions) – This group is for designed for all woodwind (apart from saxophones! Sorry!)

Intermediate Band: (Sun) 4pm-5pm – £32 per term (4 Sessions) – This group will be playing music from every genre, from classical to pop!

Sizzling Saxophones: (Sun) 5pm-5.30pm – £24 per term (4 Sessions) – The sizzling saxophones play music from every genre! Ability is around grade 3 and above, we welcome all saxophones from Soprano to Baritone!
